The word Ansible designate an hyper-luminous (even almost instantaneous) communication device.

Originally imagined by Ursula K. Le Guin in 1966 in Rocannon’s World, the concept was largely used by Orson Scott Card in the Ender series^[1]Ender’s Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind, Ender in Exile., just as Vernor Vinge and Dan Simmons.
