The Dark Fantasy is a subgenus of Fantasy in which the ambiance is very dark, oppressive, pessimistic, where the characters are overburden by the ordeal they suffer.
Sometimes, the Dark Fantasy approaches Horror with some mythology elements. Sometimes, it approaches Heroic Fantasy but in a dark and amoral context.
