Like the cyborg, the mecananthropist, a term formed with the word “mechanic” and the suffix “-anthopist” (from anthropôs, “human beeing”), is a human creature from the fusion of a man and a machine.
It was used for the first time in 1928 in the french magazine Revue hebdomadaire, and was reused by the french author Philippe Curval in 1974 in his book L’Homme à rebours.
