Dico S.F. – Metamorph

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A metamorph is a natural or artificial creature which has the faculty to change form as much as it wants.

It can be done because of its muscle’s malleability (the “face-dancers” in Dune) or through the ability to re-organise its body’s cells (or molecules) (the constable Odo in Star Trek: DS9, or The Thing in the John Carpenter’s movie).

Synonym : Shape-shifter

Matching words: Extraterrestrial, Robot

Examples :

  • The face-dancers in Dune, by Frank Herbert
  • The Thing, directed by John Carpenter
  • The Majipoor serie, by Robert Silverberg
  • The T-1000 in Terminator 2: The Judgment Day, directed by James Cameron
